Klair Elizabeth Helen Koenig, age 35, of Green Bay, WI, passed away early Monday morning, September 1, 2025.
Klair was born to Karen and Kevin Koenig and immediately took the world by storm. She was a Queen who slayed life and could never be tamed. As a child she regularly gave her family heart attacks by climbing silos or 30-foot pine trees as wide as a toothpick – the girl climbed EVERYTHING. She was fearless. Klair lived hard and loved harder. She always got us in trouble, and it was always worth it. She was the most genuine, kind human you could ever meet. Klair was an extraordinary mother, devoted fiancé, loving daughter, caring sister, the best friend, and the never-ending life of the party. She was wild and we loved her for it.
Klair gave us the best memories; whether it was jamming at a Pink Floyd concert, swinging on a rope swing, camping, navigating the Menominee River on the pontoon boat, kayaking, belting out whatever song that came on (she knew the words to pretty much every song and she could SING!), dancing, hanging out with her family just doing nothing, decorating Christmas cookies, or getting chased by an imaginary scary bus driver your dad and uncle created to keep you in line. She was a hilarious goofball, silly as they come and just so vibrant in all the ways. Klair was fiercely protective of her loved ones. She was not afraid to stand up for what she thought was right. She might have been small in stature, but her spirit was so, so mighty!
Klair loved her son Grant and her fiancé Luke beyond measure. They had so many great adventures fishing, camping, riding dirt bikes, really anything that happened outdoors, they were enjoying it together. She was so excited about her new pop-up camper and the fun they were going to have.
We promise we will watch the Labyrinth, Dark Crystal, Willow, Return to Oz, Legend, Lord of the Rings, and all the Harry Potter’s with Grant. We’ll read with him, bring him on adventures, and keep your memory alive for him forever and always.
Klair is survived by her fiancé Luke Tabalske and their son Grant, her parents Karen & Kevin Koenig, sister Kristen Koenig (Amanda Patteson), brother Kyle Koenig (Jamie Ritter), in-laws to be Wendy (Greg) Harteau & Jeff (Pam) Tabalske, Justin & Rebecca Tabalske and their son Hunter and daughter Jasmine, Kayla Preble (Caleb) and Morgan Tabalske (fiancé Josh Ohlrich) and the rest of her fiancé Luke’s family. She is also survived by many incredibly special aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. She is also survived by her cat Marley.
Klair is preceded in death by her grandparents Helen and Harry Koenig, Betty Smits, and Bill Steber, as well as many great-aunts and great-uncles. She is further preceded by her aunt, Lynne Collier, and cousin Geoffrey Collier.
She would also definitely want us to remember to say that she is also preceded by Rosie, Ginger and Roscoe, as she loved those dogs so much.
Klair’s family would like to thank the first responders that tried to keep her with us. Their efforts are so appreciated.
