Kimberly (Kim) Sue Lund, age 54, Green Bay, was welcomed to heaven on Monday, January 16, 2023, after a heroic battle with cancer. She was born in La Crosse, WI on November 5, 1968, the daughter of John and Ann Lemke.
Kim’s family later moved to DeForest, WI where Kim graduated from DeForest High School in 1987. She later returned to her beloved city of La Crosse to attend college. It is only fitting that she met the love of her life, Jon, in her favorite city in 1989. Jon and Kim were united in marriage on August 22, 1992. Jon affectionately referred to his bride as his little “honeybutt.” Some of Kim’s fondest and most cherished memories are from La Crosse including annual family reunions at Camp Kuschel.
Throughout her life, Kim can be remembered as having a contagious smile that could light up a room. She had a soft, quiet, go-with the flow demeanor. Kim’s positive and optimistic outlook on life was always uplifting and encouraging to those around her. She was happiest when surrounded by her boys, Roscoe and Louie, her adored dogs, with a book in her hand. Kim loved nothing more than to be immersed in a good book. She is remembered as enjoying time with Jon on the boat fishing but while waiting for her bobbers to go under, she of course had a book in her hand. Kim also had a love for hard rock music and enjoyed many concerts and festivals with Jon throughout the years.
She greatly enjoyed Jon’s delicious homecooked meals but Kim herself could whip up an out-of-this world batch of homemade manicotti and you could consider yourself lucky if you had the opportunity to taste such deliciousness.
Kim was a dedicated and hardworking employee who was a proud pharmacy technician for over 20 years. She was most recently employed by St. Vincent Hospital and truly loved her job. Her coworkers and dear friends were a part of her extended family and she cherished their love, support, and friendship.
Kim is survived by her adoring husband of 31 years, Jon. Her three sisters: Dawn Lemke, Jodie (Bob) Schwenn, and Patty (Bob) Tidwell; her sister-in-laws Polly (Paul) Lund, Bonnie (Sam) Saboda; nieces Elizabeth Burgess, Erin Van Enkevort, Sarah VanEffen, Mindy Burgess, Jazzmyn Zarda, Anna Schwenn, and Morgan Tidwell; nephews Christopher Burgess and Alex Villafranco; and many other relatives and friends. We certainly couldn’t forget to mention her two adored dogs, Roscoe and Louie.
She was preceded in death and welcomed with open arms into heaven by her parents John and Ann Lemke, her mother and father-in-law Ruth and John Lund, her brother-in-law, Bruce Lund, and her niece Kristin Lund; as well as her beloved dogs Floyd and Chester.
Per Kim’s wishes, a celebration of Kim’s life will be held on Saturday, April 22nd at the Goal Post Bar and Grill in Green Bay, WI. Additional information will be shared in the near future.
The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff at Green Bay Oncology as well as Unity Hospice for their care for Kim.
Kim, your life will be remembered with smiles, love, and laughter! We are all better people for having had you a part of our lives.
