Kathleen “Kitsy” Tierney passed away on Monday, April 22, 2024
Kitsy was born in March of 1945 to Wilfred Joseph Tierney and Helen “Goo” McKee in Green Bay, WI. She made life-long friends at St. Patrick Elementary and St. Joseph Academy (1963).
Kitsy joined the Administrative Assistant workforce through “Kelly Girl”, then at Carroll College in Waukesha. She finished her career with the Wisconsin Correctional Facilities, ending when she suffered a stroke in 2001. When able, she volunteered her time at the Neville Public Museum and the Neonatal Unit at a local Green Bay hospital.
Kitsy was twice married. First, to John Gumz, of Fond du Lac, WI, for 17-years. They had one child, Christopher, in 1974. Her second marriage was to James Holterman, of Green Bay, WI, for 4-years beginning in 1989.
Kitsy enjoyed spending time playing card games, such as Cribbage, Canasta, Gin and Rummy. In her 30’s and 40’s, she earned the “600 Club” patch playing in numerous bowling leagues. She also loved cheering on her Green Bay Packers, and sharing laughs with family and friends.
Kitsy was predeceased by all 4 of her siblings: Jerry, Bill, Shelagh, and Eugene. She is survived by her son, and two Grandchildren: Hari and Brady.
Services will be held at Cotter Funeral Home, 860 N. Webster Ave, De Pere on Monday, April 29, 2024, with visitation beginning at 12:30, a small service at 1:30, and burial at 2:30 at St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery - Askeaton.
