Kathleen H. (Katie) Chaloupka, age 90, passed away July 29, 2021. The daughter of the late Melvin and Helen (Ruminski) Schroeder was born March 6, 1931 in Two Rivers. After attending St. Lukes Catholic Grade School she graduated from Washington High School in Two Rivers. On February 23, 1952, she married Allan Chaloupka in Manitowoc. Katie worked at Hamiltons and Mirro Aluminum in Two Rivers and R&M Drive-In in Denmark. She was a member of St. James Catholic Church in Cooperstown and the St. James Altar Society. In her spare time Katie enjoyed knitting and crocheting, baking kringle and kolaches.
Surviving Katie are her children: Lynn (Bob Boyer) Hager of Pound, Karen Chaloupka of Denmark, Wayne (Vicki) Chaloupka of Luxemburg, Dean (Anne) Chaloupka of Wellington, FL, Brian (Julie) Chaloupka of Kewaunee, Ross (Gena) Chaloupka of Roswell, GA, Neal (Jim Seitz) Chaloupka of Fort Lauderdale, FL; grandchildren: Tricia (Charlie) Rottier, Scott (Lorra) Hager, Carrie (Bob Siebert) Hager, Laura (Jason) Loppnow, Sara (Dan Maaske) Chaloupka, Tony Chaloupka, Brandon (Megan) Chaloupka, Morgan Chaloupka, Hannah Chaloupka, Kim (Shaun) Hardtke, Amie Chaloupka, Matt (Alicia Bies) Chaloupka, Sarah Mitchell and Mason (Taylor Patterson) Mitchell; great-grandchildren: Alex (Emilie Pludeman) Hager, Katy Hager, Colin Rottier, Adrienne and Jack Hardtke, Ethan and Kylee Loppnow. She is further survived by her brother: Roger (Betty) Schroeder; sister: Cheryl (David) Decker; sisters-in-law: Arlene Schroeder and Lois Schroeder; as well as nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
In addition to her husband Allan and parents, Katie was preceded in death by an infant son, Lee, father and mother-in-law: Adolph and Mildred Chaloupka; brothers Robert and Leo; Sister Ruth; brother-in-law Norman Wegner; sisters-in-law Helen Schroeder, Elaine (Carl) La Violette, Joan Alioto; brother and sister-in-law: Leslie and Louis Chaloupka.
Family and friends may visit at St. James Catholic Church, 18228 County Road R, Cooperstown (Denmark) on Wednesday, August 4, from 9:00am until 10:45am. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am with Fr. Santiago Turiano, Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Melnik Presbyterian Cemetery. Cotter Funeral and Cremation Care is assisting the family.
