Judith M. “Judy” Trad, age 79, of De Pere, passed away peacefully in her sleep on August 25, 2025 at her home with her husband by her side.
Judy was born on November 28, 1945, in Ontonagon, MI, to Clifford and Dorothy Aileen (Ranta) Cummings. She grew up in Michigan’s beautiful Upper Peninsula and graduated from Ewen High School in 1963. On February 5, 1993, Judy married the love of her life, Ed Trad, on the beaches of Negril, Jamaica—a memory they cherished ever since.
Judy was hardworking, kind, and full of life. She spent time in clerical work before joining Ed at their business, Eddie’s 57, where she not only helped keep things running but also made countless friendships. Judy had a gift for making people feel welcome and cared for. She loved simple joys—playing cards with friends, losing herself in a good book, and filling her kitchen with the smells of home cooking. Her strawberry rhubarb pie was famous, and she never showed up empty-handed to a gathering. Judy looked forward to weekly lunch dates with friends, treasured every moment with her family, and adored her great-grandchildren. And if you spent any time with her, you knew exactly where her football loyalties stood—Judy was a proud Detroit Lions fan through and through. Judy leaves behind her husband of 32 years, Ed Trad; her son Brent (Michele) Pietila; stepchildren Tom Trad and Shalene Miller; grandchildren Evan (Kaylie) Lambert, Rebecca (Jesse) Bouchonville, Kyle Miller, Connor Pietila, and Emmarose Pietila and Levi Benjamin; and great- grandchildren Sawyer Lambert, and Harper, Hudson, and Noah Bouchonville. She is also survived by her brother Peter (Pam) Ranta, and many nieces, nephews, dear friends and the father of her children Andrew Pietila.
She was welcomed into heaven by her parents, Clifford and Dorothy, her daughter, Kelly Lambert, and her brother, Ken Ranta.
A celebration of Judy’s life will be held on September 21st from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm at Just Stop In, 5316 WI-57, De Pere, WI where family and friends can come together to share stories, laughter, and love in her honor.
