Judith “Jude” Turcotte Landry-Schippers, 81, of De Pere, died on Friday, November 5, 2021. Anyone who knew Jude, knows how sweet and charitable of a person she was.
Jude was born on March 23, 1940 to the late Dick and Bert Schippers (Van Dyck). She often talked about her wonderful childhood growing up on Washington Street near Legion Park. She enjoyed the many games and activities with children in the neighborhood. Jude went to grade school at St. Mary’s, often by walking, and later took the bus to St. Josephs Academy. She was blessed with a signing voice that earned her solos on the church choir at St. Mary’s.
Jude was married twice in her lifetime. She was first married to Alex Landry whom she had her first and only child Michael with. They moved to New Hampshire where she lived for twenty years. Her second marriage was to Ray Turcotte. Even with a son Jude was not a stay-at-home mom. She enjoyed having many different jobs over the years until she retired. She missed working, but mainly the interaction and relationships she made with other people. Jude spent her final years of her life back home in De Pere where she was closer to her family.
Jude is survived by her son Mike and his wife Beth; two sisters Ann and Carol; and many nieces and nephews.
