Judith Mae Cornell

Judith Cornell, age 87 passed away, peacefully surrounded by her children at home, Sunday, June 20,2021. Judy was born on August 22, 1933, in Buffalo, New York to the late David and Gladys Hackwell. On September 2, 1955, Judy married the love of her life, George K. Cornell in East Aurora, NY.  Together they shared 63.5 years of marriage. Judy graduated from Skidmore College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and 20 years later graduated from Bellin School of Nursing.  During her nursing career she was a pediatric nurse, a general hospital nurse and ended her career as a Hospice Nurse with “Unity”.

Judy was an avid and active member of the Service League of Green Bay. She was also a past president of PEO Chapter AU. She was active in various Bridge Clubs, Playreading Group, Garden Club, Shakespeare Club and Birthday Club. Judy loved her George and her children first.  She liked gardening, bird watching, skiing, playing tennis, cooking and entertaining.

She is survived by her children, Susan Richards, John (Michelle) Cornell, Mary Cornell, Martha Cornell and grandson, Zachary George Cornell.Preceding her in death is her husband, George Cornell, sisters, Faith Ernst, Margorie Geyer, and Eraine Walker and her parents, Gladys Hackwell Peek, Sandy Peek and David Hackwell.

Family and Friends may gather from 9:00-11:00 am Friday June 25, 2021, for the visitation with a funeral service to be held immediately following at Cotter Funeral and Cremation Care 860 N.
