Joseph Neuser

Joseph Herman Neuser passed away on Saturday, August 30, 2025.

He was born February 23, 1946 to Edmund & Alice Neuser in Manitowoc, WI. He was born 9 of 10 children, 5 boys & 5 girls, and enjoyed his early childhood living in the country and having the benefit of his older siblings looking after him (lots of presents). Joe graduated from Lincoln High School in 1964 and lived a short time in Southern California with his older brother Tom, before returning to Manitowoc. He married his high school sweetheart Sandi Knox and then got notice from Uncle Sam to go to Vietnam. He was blessed with his daughter Amy, who was born while he was serving his country, and was in the Army for 3 years. Joe & his young family lived in Illinois for over a year before he was honorably discharged. Joe & Sandi were blessed with another daughter Heidi, 3 years later and he graduated from Silver Lake College in Manitowoc with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1974. Eventually they moved to Green Bay in the late 1980s and over time, they welcomed 4 grandchildren, Jackson, Payton, Ryan and Chloe, who would become the focus of their lives. Joe & Sandi built a house designed to lend itself to grandchildren's dreams. There was a huge backyard with a go-kart and a large swing set & treehouse that Joe built for the kids. There was also a full basement with a train set and plenty of room for the kids to play. Joe saw to it that "Santa" came to the house visit in person every Christmas Eve.

Joe was involved with several businesses in Manitowoc & one in Minnesota and then partnered with his friend Tom Novotny to form Commercial Horizons. Of all the projects that he had the pleasure of developing and working on, he took great pride in The Willows Office Complex and River Pines Condominiums in Bellevue. Joe was also lucky and grateful to have worked with his trusted friend Cindy LaPacz over the years.

Later in life, Joe got involved with a group of individuals investing in oat coatings for medical gloves and eventually started his own company with Dr. Mark Redmond of Edmonton Canada. They developed numerous patents with the sale of several to one of the world's largest medical glove manufacturers in Malaysia. He stayed busy with this business until the end.

Joe absolutely loved his family and enjoyed taking trips with them, golfing with his grandsons, riding bikes with Sandi, attending his grandchildren's games & events, and making them all laugh. He is so lucky to have had a group of dear friends from high school and college that have remained extremely close, and Joe cherished his time with them. He absolutely loved their sheepshead get-togethers, golf outings, Badger game weekends, and travels.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Ed & Ali Neuser, his brothers, Daniel (Pat), Thomas, John & Robert, his sisters Mary Ann Johnson (Gene), Elaine Handl (Cliff), Lois Wallander (Bernie), Patsy Kaminski (Gary) and Carolyn Neuser Pedro, in-laws Joseph & Phyllis Knox, and sister-in-law Cheryl Copeland. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years Sandra, daughter Amy Ellis, grandchildren Payton & Chloe Ellis, daughter Heidi Martin, son-in-law Michael and grandsons Jackson & Ryan Martin, former son-in-law Randy Ellis, brother-in-law Tim Knox (Judy), sister-in-law Sandy Neuser and former sister-in-law Susan Neuser, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

If he has his way, Joe is in heaven with a brandy old-fashioned sweet or maybe a Pacifico, watching Wheel of Fortune & Jeopardy, followed by Seinfeld, or golfing and listening to Crosby Stills Nash & Young.

Family and friends may visit at Cotter Funeral Home, 860 N Webster Ave, De Pere, on Thursday, September 4, 2025, from 2:00pm until the time of service at 4:00pm.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Joe’s name may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Joe accomplished so much in his life and was a truly generous, loving, smart, hard­ working, good-hearted and goofy guy who will be sadly missed. He truly loved his family and friends and wanted everyone to know that the times he spent with all of you will live on with him wherever he travels throughout the universe. He loved it all!
