John Lyman DeWane, age 70, entered into eternal rest on September 23, 2024 at his home in Wrightstown. He was born on January 28, 1954, in Green Bay, Wisconsin, to the late Clem and Clarice (Gilbert) DeWane. John was a proud graduate of Wrightstown High School, class of 1972.
He worked at Fort Howard/Georgia Pacific for 36 years, from December 1972 until March 2009, where he served as a photographic technician until the department dissolved. His intellectual curiosity and passion for learning were evident through his long-time membership in Mensa.
John dedicated 23 years to serving his community as the Municipal Judge for the Village of Wrightstown, holding the position from May 1997 until April 2020. John is survived by his sisters and brothers: Kathie Schampers, Peg DeWane, Betty & Steve Piotrowski, Jean Henrigillis, Tom & Jan DeWane, Dan DeWane and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother, Patrick DeWane.
John's memory will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and community. A celebration of life will be held at Cotter Family Gathering Center, 518 Meadow Lane, Wrightstown on Saturday October 12, 2024 from 10 am until the time of service at noon. A private family burial to follow at St.Paul Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Wrightstown Community Food Pantry.
