Joan A. Selner

Joan Ann (Malechek) Selner, age 74, of Denmark, Wisconsin entered eternal life on Wednesday, May 20, 2026. Joan was born July 22, 1951, in Two Rivers, Wisconsin to the late John and Alice (Vogeltanz) Malechek. She married William (Bill) Selner on November 10, 1984, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Tisch Mills. Bill preceded her in death in 2007.

Joan graduated from Kewaunee High School in 1969 and retired from Schneider National in 2014. Joan was a member of All Saints Catholic Church in Denmark. She enjoyed cooking, baking and doting on cute animals.

Joan took on challenges in a matter-of-fact way, both in her own battle with cancer and while caring for her husband Bill in his fight with ALS. She never complained about the difficulties they faced and did the best she could with what she was given.

Joan was preceded in death by her parents, John and Alice Malechek, her infant sister Carol Malechek, her husband Bill, brothers-in-law Dan Selner and Roger Selner, sister-in-law Donna (Selner) Whitcomb, niece Dawn Selner, nephew-in-law Brandon Kustka and nephew Bryan Selner. She is survived by her extended family: Bob Whitcomb, Joe & Barb Selner, Chris Selner, Karen Selner, Deb & Chris Langenhuizen, many nieces and nephews, along with her three Godchildren: Craig Berg, Erin (Selner) Kustka, and James Malechek.

Friends may call at All Saints Catholic Church, Denmark, on Saturday, May 30th, from 9 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will immediately follow visitation at 11:00 a.m. A private burial at All Saints Cemetery will be held at a later date.
