Joan Walsh, 89, of De Pere, passed away peacefully surrounded by family Sunday April 17, 2022, at a local nursing home.
Born August 20, 1932, to the late Erv and Ester (Lawrence) Wergin in Milwaukee, after high school she met the “Love of her Life” dancing at the Eagles Ballroom. Her and Jim were married in 1953 and celebrated just short of 50 years together until his passing in 2003. Joan worked at Master Lock from 1967-1992 providing the family the means to do so many things they wouldn’t have otherwise been able have and do – she gave everything to her family. Joan loved traveling, watching the Green Bay Packers, and collecting everything John Wayne. She will surely be missed.
Joan is survived by her four children; Deborah (Michael) Hecht, James (Robin) Walsh, Carey Walsh, Thomas (Linda) Walsh, seven grandchildren, and ten great grandchildren, siblings; Dick (the late Tina), Doris (the late David), Gay (Ken) and Ken (Chris).
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, siblings, along with many other family, friends and relatives.
Visitation will be Thursday, April 21, 2022 from 11am to 12pm. Prayer service to follow at 12pm at Wisconsin Memorial Park – Brookfield, WI with entombment to follow.
Cotter Funeral and Cremation Care is assisting the family.
