Jesse J. Bissing

January 11, 1981 — October 30, 2025

Appleton

Jesse Joseph Bissing, age 44 of Appleton, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, October 30, 2025. He was born in Appleton, WI to Joseph and Margaret (Timmers) Bissing. He graduated from Appleton West High School with the class of 1999 and went on to earn an electrical engineering degree, followed by a Master’s in Business from the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee. He began his career with Bucyrus, which later became Caterpillar. On lunch breaks, he would organize games of Sheepshead, making sure to include everyone in the fun. Jesse and his wife, Rebecca (Gumieny) Bissing, along with their boys, moved to the Fox Valley to take over the family business, Bissing Electric.

Jesse helped build the family cottage on White Potato Lake, where he loved spending time with family and friends and never walked away from an unfinished puzzle or a strategic game of Cribbage. One night at Kelly’s Bleachers in Wind Lake, he asked a girl named Rebecca (Becky) to dance, and they spent the next 21 years building a family together. He often said Becky was the heart of their family, and together they shared countless adventures and spontaneous trips. Jesse loved country music, tailgating at Brewers and Packers games, motorcycling with Becky, and enjoying NASCAR and car shows with his sons. He was always by his boys’ side—coaching, encouraging, and celebrating their passions. Jesse’s love of engineering showed in everything he did, from building with Legos to assembling his own computer. Curious about how things worked, Jesse was always ready to tinker or repair. Known for his sharp wit and dry humor, he never missed a chance to drop a clever one-liner or a memorable movie quote. His love and legacy will live on with his boys.

Those left to remember him are, his loving wife, Becky; sons, Briley, Jase and Hudson Bissing; family dog, Willow; brother Danny (Ray Olivares) Bissing; sister, Lexy (Nick) Rechek; parents, Joe and Peggy Bissing; maternal grandmother, Delores Bissing; sisters in law, Jennifer (Mike) Bailey and Samantha (Erik Schultz) Gumieny. Jesse is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and was especially blessed with friends in Appleton and Milwaukee.

Family and friends may gather on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at Cotter Gathering Center, 518 Meadow Lane, Wrightstown from 10 am until the time of service at 2 pm. The family wishes to send sincere gratitude to Unity Hospice, especially Nurse Ashley, Nurse Anna, Nurse Jenn, as well as Samantha Gumieny.
