Jeanne Flatley

Jeanne Buerschinger Flatley, 85, died peacefully January 12 surrounded by her family. Jeanne was born June 23, 1936 in Green Bay to Elaine Harris Buerschinger and Cyril John Buerschinger. She attended St. Matthew Catholic School, St Joseph Academy, East High School, Barry College and St. Norbert College. She married Robert Rahr Flatley on May 16, 1964. They were blessed with two children: Mary and husband Paul Zeller, John Flatley and his wife Dr. Angela Moore; four grandchildren: Andrew, Michael (fiancée Alyssa Marquis), Katie Zeller and Eleanor Flatley.

Jeanne started her career at Motor Parts and Machine as office manager. She later sold World Book encyclopedias before becoming a Realtor. She had a very successful career of over 30 years starting with Skogg Realty and then Olejniczak Realty.

She was involved in the community both in service and socially as an active member of Service League, Green Bay Antiquarians, Downtown Kiwanis Club, Shamrock Club, Wednesday Night Square Dance Club, Egg Harbor Yacht Club, Quarterback Club and her “sewing” club. Her Catholic faith was very important to her. She was an active member of St. Matthew and Resurrection parishes, Catholic Women’s Club and Christian Mothers.

She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She loved spending time with family and friends in Allouez, Edgewater Beach and Egg Harbor. She also enjoyed sailing in Door County and skiing with friends. She was a lifelong Packer fan.

Jeanne was preceded in death by her husband Bob, parents and many close friends.

Gathering time with family and friends will be Wednesday, January 19th from 9:30 - 10:45 with the mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 at Resurrection Catholic Church, 333 Hilltop Drive, Green Bay. The mass will also be live streamed at gbres.org/live

In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in Jeanne’s name.
