On December 20, 2021, Jean Rentmeester died at Allouez Parkside Village. She was born in Waupaca, WI to Urban and Margaret (Rice) Vande Walle on March 27, 1934. Two years later she moved to De Pere, where she has resided ever since. Jean was a proud 1952 graduate of St. Joseph Academy. On June 2, 1956 she married William C. Rentmeester at St. Mary Church in De Pere. They were blessed with six children whom they were very proud of: Dr. Timothy and Margaret Rentmeester, Amy and George Karioris, Margaret Deem, Dr. David and Dawn Rentmeester, Robert Rentmeester and Steven and Tammy Rentmeester; twelve grandchildren: Frank and Leah Karioris, William, Patrick and Chelsea Rentmeester, James, Sarah, Mya, Will, Sam, Eleanor Rentmeester and Kory Hooper; four great-grandchild Tate and Lila Rentmeester, Luka and Remy Biel. Jean is also survived by her sisters-in-law Jean and Norma Vande Walle.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son-in-law Charles Deem; sisters and brothers-in-law: Betty and Gus Ernst, Carol and Dick Byron, Judith Twomey; her brothers Richard, Glenn and Tom and all of her husbands family.
Family and friends may visit at St. Mary Catholic Church, 4805 Sportsman Drive, with visitation beginning at 10:30am followed by an 11:00am Mass of Christian Burial with Fr. Mike Ingold officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, De Pere.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed in Jean’s name to the Friends of Brown County Library.
