Janice Steinhorst

Oct 5, 1953 — Jul 17, 2026

Janice M. Steinhorst passed away on July 17, 2026, at the age of 72. Born on October 5, 1953, in Green Bay, Wisconsin to Arnold and Mildred (Schaetz) Ronk, Janice was a beacon of positivity whose laughter could light up any room. Janice dedicated 39 years of her career to Ft. Howard Paper as a mill worker. On November 2, 1974, she married her beloved husband, Bill Steinhorst, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Glenmore. Janice’s greatest joy came from her grandchildren, and she was their biggest cheerleader, attending as many sporting events and activities as she possibly could. Her affectionate nickname, "Nana JJ," was a testament to the special relationship she cherished with each of them. An avid baker, Janice was famous for her special chocolate chip cookies, bringing smiles not only to family gatherings but also to friends and neighbors. Her ability to find humor in every situation and her infectious laughter (sometimes carrying on long after everyone else stopped laughing) left a mark on all who knew her.

She is survived by her husband, Bill; children: Jaclyn (Jeremy) Holm, David (Sara) Steinhorst and Cathy (Steve) Lentz; grandchildren: Evan and Alex Holm, Abby Steinhorst, Avery and Owen Lentz; siblings: John Ronk and Tom (Peggy) Ronk; sister-in-law Earlene Ronk; Bill’s siblings: Janice Kehoe, Glenn (Brenda) Steinhorst, Jerome Steinhorst, Daniel (Laurie) Steinhorst, Tom (Patti) Steinhorst and Teresa Peebles; as well as many nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

In addition to her parents, Arnold and Mildred; Janice was preceded in death by her grandson Dakota Steinhorst; father-in-law and mother-in-law John and Rose Steinhorst; brothers: Peter Ronk and Bernard Ronk.
