Janice A Sampo, age 81 of Green Bay, passed away on Thursday, August 26, 2021 with her family at her side. She was born to the late Rowen and Florence (Heisler) Tuma in Ravenna, Ohio on May 23, 1940.
Janice married Timothy Sampo in 1962. They shared 56 years of marriage before his passing in 2018.
Janice had a long career in retail starting at Sears, moving to Casual Corner and Talbots. She moved up the ranks ending her retail career as a District Manager. Before retiring she worked for PCM Credit Union.
Janice loved fashion and always took pride in her clothing style, she enjoyed when people would tell her how nice her outfits looked. She loved to garden and feed the birds, a hobby she was proud to share with her daughter Sue. Often people would drive by and stop to tell her how beautiful her gardens were. She loved animals and always had one of her many dogs by her side, Pepper, Muffin, Mike, Benji and most recently her rescue Jack.
Janice cherished spending time with her family whether she was going to her grandchildren's events or spending the day together playing games. She enjoyed shopping and living on the edge with her daughter Holly. She cherished her weekly visits with Brittany doing various fun adventures and landscape and technology time with Max. Janice would say her fondest memories were times spent with family and she could not have been more proud of her grandchildren. She was a wonderful loving wife, mom, "Grams", and friend.
Janice is survived by her daughter, Holly (Barry) Muller; grandchildren: Brittany Muller and Maxwell Muller (Althea Berry); son-in-law Francis Coonen; sisters-in-law: Mary Havlik and Debra Sampo; brothers-in-law: Kevin (Marilyn) Sampo, Bill Garrity, Larry Olson, Gary Gauthier as well as many nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Tim; two daughters: Kristen "Krissy" Sampo, Susan "Sue" Coonen; her parents Rowen and Florence; in-laws Francis and Marie Sampo; sisters-in-law: Sandie Garrity, Dayle Olson and Rorie Gauthier; brothers-in-law: Michael Sampo, Daniel Sampo and Frank Havlik, nephew Billy Garrity and niece Kathleen Sampo.
