Janice Mae Vande Hey (née Bowers)
Age 78 of Wrightstown, passed away peacefully at home on May 29, 2022.
Janice was born to Rudolph "Ralph" and Frances "Frankie" Bowers on February 6, 1944. Jan married Jerome "Jerry" Vande Hey (passed away in 1998) in 1962 and they enjoyed 24 years of farming together. Jan later received her bachelor's degree in accounting and worked as an IRS Auditor. After retiring from the IRS, she operated her own tax consulting business out of her home. Her greatest joys were spending time with Rod and the grandkids. She enjoyed gardening (she loved having her hands in the dirt), hunting, fishing, camping, golfing, and anything that involved the outdoors.
She will be deeply missed by her loving partner of 36 years, Rod Friday; Jan's children, Julie (John) Martin and their family: Trevor, Dylan (fiancé, Bella), and Haley (Cody); Jean (Ron Roehrborn) Vande Hey and their family: Nathan (Megan) Eiting and their children Grant and Claire; Jeff (Colleen Theunis) Vande Hey and their family: BJ and Kristy (Matt) and children Aiden and Wyatt; Jim (Amy) Vande Hey and their family: James (Jeannie), Jessica (Nick), Shawn (Thea) and children Isaiah, Amara, and Luna; and Jill (Brian) Micke and their family: Anastasia, Will, Cole, and Avi; Rod's son, Jesse (Misty Goff) Friday; Rod's grandchildren, Nicki (John) and their family and Linzy and her family; great-grandchildren; sisters, Betty (Jim) Munier and Alice (Roger) Brooks; and sister-in-law, Karen Bowers.
She is preceded in death by infant daughter, Joan; Rod's daughter, Penny; and brothers, Jack (Jean) Bowers and Tom Bowers.
A special thanks to Rod, her loving partner, for caring for Mom so she could stay in their home for the entirety of her illness. A memorial fund will be set up in Jan’s name. Donations will be sent to the Alzheimer's Association.
