Janice Alma Gauthier, age 83 of Manitowoc, passed away on April 16, 2021. She was born on January 22, 1938 in Two Rivers, to the late Hank and Viola (Jensen) Gauthier. She moved to Waukegan, Il where she graduated from high school. After her children were raised Janice attended Lakeshore Technical College and received a degree in Nuclear Health Physics Science. Janice loved to travel and meet new people and her job provided her the opportunity to travel all over the US. She loved to dance and was a Tina Turner look alike (she had amazing legs). She was a great storyteller and loved to tell jokes. She loved to paint, and she did so well. She loved her family and her many friends. (She never met a stranger).
She is survived by her children; Robert (Donna)Richardson, of Oregon, Jeanmarie (Don) Goeke, of Wisconsin, MiMi (Jeff) Spear of Wisconsin, Natalie Anderson of Oregon, James Richardson of Oregon and Annette Soukup (James Tennant) of Wisconsin, 25 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.
Janice is preceded in death by her parents Hank & Viola Gauthier, brother Jerome, two sons William and Beaver, grandchildren Andrew, Jeremy and Ayla and great grandchildren, ZoEe and Tiffany.
Family and friends may gather beginning at 1:00pm, Monday, April 26, 2021 at Cotter Funeral Home, 536 County Rd R, Denmark WI 54208 for an open casket viewing and visitation, at 3:00pm, the casket will be closed for a closed casket visitation until 4:00pm. A service will follow at 4:00pm with Pastor Andy Zoerb officiating.
