Janet Myers

Janet Myers, age 75, Allouez, passed away peacefully on October 1, 2025. She was born on June 5,1950 to the late Dr. John and Evelyn (O’Dell) Dettmann in Green Bay, WI. She graduated from Green Bay East High School, class of 1968. She furthered her studies at Luther College in Decorah, Iowa and graduated in 1972. After school she worked as a medical transcriptionist for over 33 years until her retirement. In 1983 she married her late husband, Ron Myers.

She enjoyed spending time with her family in Door County at their cottage in Sister Bay. She was a lifelong member of Grace Lutheran Church in Green Bay. She will be forever remembered by her family and friends for her kindness and generosity. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Janet is survived by her sisters, Mary Lynn (Leigh) Barnes and Julie (Rob) Adams, nephew, John (Jennie) Barnes, great nieces, Emily and Ashley, brothers-in-law, Greg (Jeanette) Myers and Gary (Jo) Myers, sisters-in-law, Cynthia Myers and Tonya (Ross) Jordan as well as other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Ron Myers, parents, Dr. John and Evelyn Dettmann, brother-in-law, Richard Myers, mother and father-in-law, Robert and Mary Jane Myers.

Family and friends can gather at Cotter Funeral Home, 860 N. Webster Ave, De Pere, on October 13, 2025, from 11:00 am until 1:00pm with a private family graveside service at Woodlawn Cemetery to follow.

The family would like to thank her Home Instead caregivers for their wonderful care, which allowed her to stay in her home as long as possible. Additionally, we would like to thank Patient Pines and St. Croix Hospice caregivers for their care and kindness.
