James (Jim) Angst, 94, Bellevue, passed away peacefully on July 18, 2021. Jim was born in Green Bay on June 28, 1927 to the late Joseph and Marion (VanLanen) Angst. On June 20, 1949 he married Eunice Iversen and enjoyed 66 years of marriage until her passing in 2015. Together they raised four children.
Jim served in the United States Navy as Seaman First Class and was honorably discharged in 1946. He went on to work for his dad in the upholstering business eventually taking ownership of Green Bay Upholstering with his brother John. Jim’s passions were spending time with his family, building the upholstering business and relaxing at the cottage on White Potato Lake. He took particular pride in building the cottage in 1969 enabling many family and friends to visit and enjoy beautiful summer days on the lake. In his spare time over the years he also enjoyed golfing, bowling (300 game at age 69), and fishing.
Jim will be sadly missed by his children, Tom (Julia) Angst, Steve (Kim Jertson) Angst, Dave (Barb) Angst; grandchildren, Jeff (Lainee) Fonder, Amy Fonder, Niki (Dan) Zera, Zachary Angst, Connor Angst, Ryan (Lindsey) Angst, Jordan (Craig) Duescher, Mike (Jenica) Angst, Bob (Bethany) Angst; and great-grandchildren, Jackson Fonder, Calen and Brooks Angst, Marlee Duescher, Brianna, Madeline, and Ethan Angst, and Olivia, Alexis, and Silas Angst; and brother, Roger (Barbara) Angst. Jim is further survived by many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his wife, Eunice; daughter Linda Fonder, brothers, John (Ginny) Angst, Roland (Joyce) Angst; sisters, Alice (Mike) Van Schyndle, Grace (Tony) Balza, and Joyce (Loren) Scheer.
Family and friends may gather at Resurrection Catholic Church, 333 Hilltop Dr, Green Bay, on Friday, July 23 from 9:00 – 10:45 am. A funeral mass will follow at 11:00 am with Father Tom Reynebeau officiating. Memories and condolences may be shared at www.cotterfuneralhome.com
