Ignatius "Iggy" Gorenc

Ignatius “Iggy” Gorenc, age 91, of Green Bay, WI, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 10, 2025 at Eden Vista Green Bay.

He was born on February 19, 1934 in Milwaukee, WI, son of the late Ignatius and Mary (Pauc) Gorenc. On October 3, 1980, he married Carolyn "Carrie" O'Brien at St. Matthew's Parish in Green Bay, WI.

Iggy was a supervisor at AT&T until his retirement. He enjoyed golfing, bowling, woodworking, listening to music and playing the Accordion. Iggy was a member of the KSKJ and the Knights of Columbus Chapter #3955 in De Pere and the Telephone Pioneers which did food drives, toys and coats for Tots.

Iggy is survived by his wife Carolyn "Carrie"; his nine children Greg (Sandy) Gorenc, Jeff (Kaye) Gorenc, Chris (Dave) Hendricks, Lisa (Tom) Wanek, Vince (Amy) O’Brien, Jeannie (Don) O’Brien Loper, Colleen (Joe) Janssen, Maureen (Jim) O’Brien Rolhouse and Julie (Bob) O’Brien Tennent; his thirteen grandchildren April (Carlo) Britto, Aaron (Jessica) Gorenc, Heather (Brian) VandenLangenberg, Mitchell (Liz) Hendricks, Kelleen (Tony) Hopfensperger, Josie (Tyler) Kaphingst, Brittany (Shawn) Umentum, Colin (fiancée Janelle Steinich) Wanek, Katy (Tom) Jantscher, Sarah (Trevor) Berceau, Nathan Janssen, Meghan Janssen and Kelly Azinge; fourteen great grandchildren Aaden, Gwynn, Penn Gorenc, Caleb and Joshua Britto, Ava and Aria VandenLangenberg, Hugh Hopfensperger, Hayden Kaphingst, Alexia Berceau, Zachary Berceau, Lucia Jantscher, Gabriel Jantscher and Dominic Jantscher; two sisters Aggie Lobacz and Joan (Mel) Hynek; two brothers Frank Gorenc and Tom (Althea) Gorenc.

Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife Maureen Gorenc; sister and brother-in-law Mici (Ed) Bregant; brother-in-law Don Lobacz; sister-in-law Lilly Gorenc and other family and friends.

Family and friends may gather on Tuesday, April 15, 2025 at Resurrection Catholic Church, 333 Hilltop Dr. Green Bay WI 54301from 9:30 am to 11:15 am with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11:30 am, with Fr. Tom Reynebeau presiding. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery in De Pere, WI.
