Idabell E. Bildings, 96, Ledgeview, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 20, 2025. She was born on December 29, 1928, in Green Bay to George and Matilda (Minten) Ambrosius. On May 28, 1952, she married John C. Bildings at St. Boniface Catholic Church in De Pere. John preceded her in death on March 20, 2017.
Together they farmed and raised their family. She loved making casserole and baking chocolate chip cookies, almost daily, to feed their large family. Mom loved to ride her Kubota through the woods and to her children houses. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Christian Ladies, and the St. Mary’s Quilters. She was a woman of great faith; she prayed her rosary daily. In her early years she enjoyed gardening, sewing and baking.
She is survived by her children, Mark (Ruth), Dorothy (Dennis) Cashman, Joseph (Carol), Raymond (Paula); son-in-law Kevin Sommerfeld, and daughter-in-law Treve Bildings.
Grandchildren: Nick, Brenda (Josh), Billy (Alee), Beth, Todd, Laura (Brett), Lindsey (Zane), Lacey (Jamie), Emily (Trey), Elizabeth (Joe), Johnny. Great-Grandchildren: Tommy, Ava, Zoey, Addyson, Izabel, Bennett, Boston, Jaxon & Claire.
She is also survived by her sisters; Elizabeth Van Hoof, Florence Lancelle; brother Bernard Ambrosius. Sister-in-laws: Camilla Holl, Rosemary Warpinski.
She was preceded in death by her sons, Donald, Robert and Kenneth; daughter, Margaret Sommerfeld, along with her parents, sister & brother-in-laws Hattie (John) Van Wychen, Ted (Betty) Ambrosius, George (Doris) Ambrosius, brother-in-laws, Norbert Van Hoof, William Lancelle. Mother and father-in-law, William & Frances Bildings, brother-in-law, Clayton (Gladys) Bildings, Richard Warpinski and Clifford Holl.
Friends and family may visit at St. Mary Catholic Church, 4805 Sportsman Drive, Ledgeview, on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Idabell at 11:00 a.m. at the church with Very Rev. Michael Ingold officiating. Interment in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Cotter Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences may be sent to www.cotterfuneralhome.com.
