Gregory Sacho

Gregory was born in Oshkosh, Wisconsin on February 9, 1947 to Gregory Oscar and Josephine Anne Sacho (Putzer).  He graduated from Oshkosh High School in 1965 and from UW Oshkosh in 1969 with a degree in upper elementary education.  He was a fifth-grade teacher in the De Pere school district since 1971 until suffering a career- ending stroke in 1995.  He continued to serve the district as a custodian and summer-school instructor until his retirement in 2003.    
Gregory married Barbara Roehl in Oshkosh in 1970 and fathered a son, Christopher James.  He married Phyllis Lynn in De Pere in 1995 and enjoyed years of retirement until his death.  He was an avid fisherman, model builder, baseball glove repairer and enjoyed artwork using many different media.  He is remembered for his love of children, his ever-present sense of humor and his tenacity in the face of illness.  He was a member of St. Francis Parish, De Pere where he served as a choir member and a religious education instructor.   
Gregory is survived by his wife, Phyllis, her sons, Thomas (Missy) Lynn, Green Bay, Dr. Jeffrey (Sharon) Lynn, Carefree, AZ, Randy (Lori) Lynn, Green Bay and 10 grandchildren, brothers, David and Richard (Cathy), California and sister Prudie, Oshkosh and niece and nephews.   
He is preceded in death by his father and mother, son, first wife Barbara and sister-in-law, Patti. 
Family and friends may visit at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 220 S. Michigan Street, De Pere, on Saturday, April 24, from 9:30am until 10:45am. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am. Cotter Funeral and Cremation Care is assisting the family. Please note that masks are required at the church and social distancing is encouraged. 
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin or The Wisconsin DNR for Fish Hatcheries.
