Gordon “Gordy” Liebergen, passed away on July 12, 2024. He was born on November 22, 1944 to the late Omer and Dora (Hietpas) Liebergen. Gordy married the love of his life Bonnie (Davister) Liebergen on August 3, 1974 at St. Mary’s Church in Greenleaf, WI.
Gordy attended St. Mary’s Grade School and graduated from East De Pere High School in 1964. He worked at Brillion Iron Works for 43 years, retiring in November 2007. Gordy loved his grandchildren Tyler and Chelsea. He recently gave his truck to Tyler which made him very proud. He enjoyed playing cards with his friends and once a week went for breakfast at D&G Restaurant with Bill and Dale. Most recently, he enjoyed his Sunday lunches with his sisters Theresa and Anna. He traveled with Bonnie to South Dakota, Florida, and Colorado. In his earlier years, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, and softball.
Gordy is survived by one son Chad (Shannon) Liebergen, grandchildren Tyler & Chelsea, New Franken, two sisters Anna Schmidt and Theresa Rozmarenowski, one sister in law Darlene Rank, and brothers in law Robert Finnel, Raymond (Sharon) Davister, and Richard (Laurie) Davister, as well as many nieces, nephews, and dear friends, especially his long-time friends Bill Loppnow and Norbert Beining.
Gordy is preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie Liebergen, parents Omer and Dora Liebergen, father and mother in law, Raymond and Elizabeth Davister, sister Mary Jane (Ben) Rottier, brother Melvin (Carol) Liebergen, brothers in law, Earl Schmidt, Raphael Rozmarenowski, and David Rank, sister in law Donna Finnel, as well as his nephew, Robert Schmidt.
Family and friends may gather on Wednesday, July 17, at St. Clare Parish St. Paul site, 423 Main St. Wrightstown, WI from 9:00 to 10:45 a.m., with the Mass of Christian Burial to take place at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in St. Mary Catholic Church Cemetery, Greenleaf.
The family would like to thank the staff and nurses at St. Vincent Hospital for the wonderful care given to Gordy during his stay along with Unity Hospice.
