Gloria Binish

Gloria Binish, age 91, of Green Bay, passed away peacefully on July 19, 2026. Born in Green Bay, Wisconsin, on May 10, 1935, Gloria was the daughter of the late Clyde and Armelda (Delahaut) Hansen. Gloria grew up surrounded by the warmth of her extended family--aunts, uncles, cousins and grandparents, all living within a three block radius where she cultivated lifelong bonds and told stories about the homes they built and the adventures they shared. She watched the area grow from farmland with only their family nearby to a bustling suburban population throughout her years. High school brought her many friends and unforgettable experiences, from exhilarating fashion shows to a cappella performances. Her life took a beautiful turn when she went on a blind date with John Binish, leading to their marriage on September 25, 1954. Gloria then devoted her life to John, and later to creating a loving home where she nurtured her family and kept the house and yard in perfect condition.

She reveled in the joys of travel, particularly to Door County during her children’s younger years, where cherished memories were made. Gloria supported John in his role as a scout leader and with pride watched her son Guy achieve the rank of Eagle Scout, while Jay also participated in the adventures of scouting. In her later years, Gloria embraced the art of relaxation and adventure. She developed a love for travel that took her to beautiful destinations like Hawaii, where she enjoyed memorable cruises with John, and later island hopping with her daughter Gail, her son-in-law Brian and his mother (a former classmate of Gloria’s), Carol Van Dreel and her husband Gordon. Their journeys included spectacular sights in Las Vegas, the grandeur of the Hoover Dam, the beauty of Bryce Canyon, and the serene landscapes of Pennsylvania, where Gloria claimed to have visited every covered bridge.

She is survived by her children: Jay A. Binish and Gail M. (Brian) Van Dreel; daughter-in-law Sue L. Binish; grandchildren: Alexandra and Breanna Van Dreel, Austin (Michelle) Binish, Kelsey (Adam) Reinke; great-grandchildren: Karlee and Dylan DeStaercke and Addison Binish; John’s siblings: Tom (Terry) Binish and Joyce Fon.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John; son, Guy V. Binish; parents, Clyde and Armelda; brother-in-law, Gordy Fon.

Private family services will be held and entombment will be in the Allouez Chapel Mausoleum.

She loved to share stories of growing up with all her hospice and nursing home providers the past several years and always had a smile to share with everyone. Each one of you has been so supportive and caring and are greatly appreciated!
