Germaine “Gerry” Loraine Reed, 93 of Denmark passed away peacefully on January 8, 2026. She was born on January 1, 1933, in Greenleaf, WI to Olive & William Fritsch. Germaine was united in marriage to Robert James Reed on January 5, 1952. Her love lives on woven through the generations she nurtured and cherished. Germaine was a devoted homemaker who took pride in her handmade, award-winning patchwork quilts. She was active in the VFW Auxiliary and the Red Cross, donating 94 gallons in her lifetime. She was a faithful member of the Prince of Peace Catholic Church. Germaine loved to sing and dance polkas. ‘Just Hang Loose’ and ‘You are my Sunshine’ songs were favorites. These reflected her gentle way of reminding others to live with kindness, faith and wisdom.

She is survived by her children: Deborah (Bob) Boehm, Diane (Randy) Stahl, Dale (Lisa) Reed, Daryl Reed, Donna (Dick) Czarneski, Dan (Sandy Sperberg) Reed, Dave (Kim) Reed, Doug (Michele) Reed, Bob Jr. (Deana) Reed, Randy (Anna Baeten) Reed, Roxanne (Bill) Kroll. 26 grandchildren. 39 great grandchildren. 13 great-great grandchildren. Many step grandchildren. 40+ Foster Children including Rick, Mary, Susan & Mike. She is further survived by sisters: Theresa (Tom) Binish, Arlene Mancheski, Dorothy (John) Levesque and brother: Donny (Joan) Fritsch. Sister-in-law: Pat Menke.

She was preceded in death by her husband- Robert James, son- Denis James, her parents: William and Olive, stepmother Ceil Mancusky-Fritsch, brothers: Victor, Vincent, Paul and sisters: Rose Mary, Bernice, Anna Jane, Margarett, Marian and Isabelle.

Friends & family may visit at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 3425 Willow Rd., Green Bay on Monday January 19, 2026, from 9-11:15am. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30am. Cotter Funeral home is assisting the Reed family. Online condolences at www.cotterfuneral home.com.
