George C. Bonovich 73, of De Pere, passed away on Tuesday, September 6, 2022 after a long battle with cancer. He was born on March 26, 1949, the son of the late George and Patricia (Dellangelo) Bonovich. On December 7, 1983, he married the love of his life, Barbara Bonovich (Eade).
George graduated from Ishpeming High School in 1967. After high school, George went on to earn his Bachelor’s Degree in teaching (drafting/architecture) from Lake Superior State. George spent decades designing and building custom homes with his father, brother and on his own. There is nothing he couldn’t build. His work was impeccable and he was meticulous about everything he built. George also spent years running his own snowmobile and logging business.
During George’s free time, he enjoyed spending every moment with his children, grandchildren and his wife, Barbara. He was always there to lend a hand and never looked for anything in return. He remained positive, even when things didn’t go as planned. He believed in living for today, wisely reminding us that you can’t change yesterday.
In addition to his wife, Barbara, he is survived by the love of his life, his children, son Shawn (Chandra) Bonovich; daughter Tammy (Jared Rogers); son Tim Bonovich; grandsons Marky Helenius and Waylon Rogers; step-sons Gene (Dara) Flink and Allan Bess; brother Jim (Kerry) Bonovich and step-grandchildren; Jesica, Melanee, Erica, Jeffrey, Heather, Kelsey, Christian and Giovanna.
George was preceded in death by his parents; infant sister Julie; granddaughter, Samantha Bonovich and step-children Jeffrey Bess and Linda Bess and his beloved dog, Blizzy.
George’s family extends their heartfelt thanks to St. Vincent Hospital ICU staff and Dr. Groteluschen and team for their excellent care.
