Genevieve J. Stange, age 96, of Green Bay, passed away April 6, 2024. The daughter of the late Ernest and Theresa (Kleczewski) Kaminecki was born October 31, 1927. She married Vernon Stange on June 12, 1950 at St. Joseph Church in Green Bay and together they shared nearly 69 years of marriage before Vernon passed away in 2019. Gen was a homemaker and had many talents, particularly sewing, crocheting, and painting. She also enjoyed music and playing slots.
Survivors include her daughters: Karen (Dan) Cotter, Lynn (Russ Kotecki) Stange, Julie “Moochie” (Bob) Bruss and Rebecca “Becky” (Mark) Wallschleager; grandchildren: Tracy (Rich) Peters, Dave (friend Stacey) VerBoort, Dan (Melissa) VerBoort, Kerry (Eric) DeGroot, Kristi (Jason) Harrill, Danielle (Brian) Trudell, Jessie (Eric) Nordholm, Zachary (Roxanna) Bruss, Nathan (Brittany) Wallschleager, Ryan “the golden child” Wallschleager; 13 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law: Shirley Ostrenga; many nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
In addition to her husband, Vernon, and parents; she was preceded in death by her brothers: Chester (Lois) Kaminecki, Raymond (Dorothy) Kaminecki and Leonard Kaminecki; brothers-in-law: Donald (Esther) Stange and James (Lucille) Stange, and Norman Ostrenga; and great-grandchild Jase VerBoort.
Family and friends may visit at Cotter Funeral Home, 860 N Webster Ave, De Pere, on Thursday, April 11, from 4:00pm until the time of service at 6:00pm with Rev. Mike Ingold officiating. Burial will be in Ft. Howard Cemetery, Green Bay.
