Gary Arn Stoychoff passed away peacefully surrounded by family at Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee, WI on December 26, 2023.
Gary was born January 22, 1946, in Stambaugh, MI to Arnold and Joyce (Anderson) Stoychoff. Gary graduated in 1964 from Iron River High School. He served in the Army (Tank Corps) in 1965 and 1966 where he spent time in Germany.
He married Janice Bors on August 23, 1969, in Caspian, MI. She preceded him in death on August 4, 2022. He worked at Van Straten Trucking for many years along with refereeing high school basketball. Once he retired from working full time, he drove charter bus for Lamers Bus Lines which allowed him to travel the United States, which he enjoyed.
Gary was a lifetime member of Trout Unlimited. He received the lifetime achievement award last year. He enjoyed traveling and fly fishing. He was able to enjoy both during his travels this past summer to the lower 48 states. A highlight of the trip was taking Janice back to Yellowstone fulfilling a promise he made her.
Gary is survived by his grandson (“grandpa boy”) Alex Stoychoff; his brother Terry (Marlene) Stoychoff; his daughter-in-law Beth Constantino, and many cousins, a brother-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and friends. He is also survived by Jasper his dog and Puddy cat.
He was preceded in death by his wife Janice, his son Ron, his parents Arnold and Joyce and several family dogs.
Family and friends may visit at Cotter Funeral Home, 860 N Webster Ave, De Pere, on Monday, January 8, from 1-3pm. A service will be held at 3pm followed by military honors.
