Gary Frederick

Gary Otto Frederick, age 83 of Denmark, Wisconsin; loving husband, admired family man, loyal friend, avid golfer, and woodworker peacefully passed away on August 3, 2024; following a valiant effort to recover from an infection. Gary was born on August 5, 1940, in Waseca, MN and was involved in agriculture his entire career; first on his family farm and then after graduating from Mankato State College. Gary married Connie Drews from Waseca, Minnesota on August 12, 1961. Gary enjoyed a successful career as a dedicated and respected general manager with Midland Cooperative/Land ‘O Lakes from February 1967 to April 2000. Gary also fostered a relationship with BJL Software as an agronomy sales and training consultant and was a creative force in the development of BJL programs.

Throughout Gary’s life, he enjoyed golfing at Wander Springs, gardening, listening to 50’s & 60’s music, playing cards, and tinkering in his workshop. Gary was a true “do it yourselfer”… he could fix just about anything! Gary took pride in designing and constructing wood projects for his wife, daughters and grandchildren. He was an enthusiastic Brewers, Bucks and Packers fan. He indulged in Friday Fish Frys at Maricque’s and Suster’s and had a knack for making top notch old fashioneds!

Gary is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Connie Frederick; four daughters, Brenda (Lyle) Koppa, Sandy (Bill) Nietz, Lynnda (Mark) Scott, and Cathy (special friend Sid) Dworak; five grandchildren, Justin Koppa, Joel Koppa, Jordan Koppa, Sarah (Ben) Kostichka, and Kayla (Cole) Krumrei; and three great grandchildren, Case Kostichka, Brice Kostichka and Kenna Krumrei; two sisters, Jeanette Byron and Marian Bryron, of Waseca, Minnesota; along with nieces and nephews.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Otto and Gertrude Frederick; brother, Orlyn Frederick; and grandson, Cole Dworak.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to all the caregivers and support staff at Emplify (Bellin) Health and Rennes Health and Rehab.

Visitation Thursday, August 8, 2024, from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm at Cotter Funeral Home 536 County Rd. R, Denmark. Visitation continues Friday, August 9, 2024, from 9:30 am – 10:45 am at All Saints Catholic Church 145 St. Claude St. Denmark. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00am.

In lieu of flowers, Gary’s family requests donations be made to the Denmark FFA.
