Frederick H. Heezen

November 10, 1943 — May 12, 2025

Frederick Hubert Heezen, age 81 of Denmark, WI gained his wings and joined his beloved wife Dolores on May 12, 2025.

Fred was born on November 10th, 1943, in Green Bay, WI. He attended Denmark High School until he joined the Army Reserves. On June 6th, 1964, he married Dolores Kozlovsky at Pine Grove Church.

Together Fred and Dolores farmed for 55 years on their Dairy Farm in Denmark. Along with farming he drove school bus for the Denmark School district for 47 years, retiring in 2014. He enjoyed driving his normal bus route and to any sporting event he could, to cheer on the Denmark Vikings, his favorite sports teams. Fred lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures, spending time with friends and family. He enjoyed evenings at the bowling alley, weekday morning conversation with his fellow bus drivers, and lending a helping hand to fellow farmers.

Fred is survived by his 7 children: Julie (Zane) Greiling, Debbie (Gregg) Schultz, Tammy (Leroy Phillips) Goddard, Tim Heezen, Cindy Hummel, Mary (Nathan) Magley, Todd (Melissa) Heezen, his 19 Grandchildren and 19 Great Grandchildren. He is further survived by his siblings Rita Pieschek, Anna Marie Wavrunek, and Jim Heezen. In-laws Pat (Dan) Gaffney, Mary (Dick) Malewiski, Carol (Glen Kornely) Levenhagen, Kate (Mike) Helgeson, Larry (Lisa) Thompson, Michael (Janice) Thompson, and Gail Kozlovsky.

Fred was preceded in death by his loving wife Dolores in January, his parents Andrew and Martha Heezen, in-laws Alois Kozlovsky and Bernard and Gertrude Thompson, son Thomas Heezen, brothers-in-law Alex Pieschek, Donald Wavrunek, Robert Kozlovsky, Joe Thompson, and Randy Levenhagen, and sister-in-law Barb Heezen.

The family would like to thank all the caregivers at the Denmark Bellin Clinic, Rennes and Unity Hospice for all of their care and support during his time there.

Family and friends may gather on Sunday, May 18, 2025 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Cotter Funeral Home, Denmark, 536 County Road R, with a prayer service to follow at 7:00 pm. Visitation will continue on Monday, May 19, 2025 at All Saints Catholic Church,145 St. Claude Street, Denmark from 9:00 am to 10:45 am. Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am with Fr. Xavier Amirtham, O.Praem presiding. Burial will be in Allouez Catholic Cemetery in Green Bay, WI at a later date.
