Evelyn Julia Schleis

Evelyn Julia Schleis, age 97, of Kewaunee, passed away Friday January 21, 2022 at her home. The daughter of the late Emil and Veronica (Morovic) Klima was born February 8, 1924 in Chicago, IL. She married Gilbert Schleis on June 2, 1945 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Stangelville and he preceded her in death. Family was first for Evie, and she enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Survivors include her children: Kathy (Myron) Pribyl, Bette (Ted) Anderson, James Schleis, Wendy (Rob) LaTour; daughter-in-law: Diane Schleis; 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great- grandchildren and one more on the way; other family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband Gilbert; son Bob; grandson Randy; son-in-law David Novak; daughter-in-law Linda Schleis.

Family and friends may visit at St. Therese Parish- St. Lawrence Site, N2085 County Road AB, (Denmark) Stangelville, on Saturday, January 29, from 9:00am until 10:45am. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am with Fr. Dennis Drury officiating. Entombment will be in Knollwood Mausoleum, Manitowoc. Cotter Funeral and Cremation Care is assisting the family.
