Evelyn “Evie” Warpinski, age 93 of De Pere, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 24, 2024, at the Jack and Ingrid Meng Residence. She was born in De Pere on August 17, 1931, to the late Allouez and Mary (Amith) Baumgart. On August 27, 1949, Evie married Francis “Frank” Warpinski, he preceded her in death on May 20, 1989. Evie worked full-time at H.C. Prange’s, which became Younkers and later Elder Beerman, in sales and then as a Department Manager for over 35 years. She was a past Antiquarian Society member, and on the committee for membership in the early years of the Botanical Gardens, since 1986, and received an award for her work. She was also on the Allouez Beautification Committee for many years and volunteered to weed flower beds. She also kept her own beautiful gardens. Evie was a Bridge player, a golfer, a Cub Scout leader and she loved to dance. She was a dedicated Green Bay Packer fan starting with games at East High Stadium to the present Lambeau Field. She would host tailgate parties, and whenever the Packers scored a touchdown, you could hear Evie’s cowbell ringing! She was a member of Abbott Pennings Parent Club and the church choir. She enjoyed traveling, to England and to Alaska. Evie could also be found at her grandchildren’s sporting and music events, cheering them on. She always spoke her mind, in fact, she picketed when Barbara Bush came to town. Evie loved her family and will be missed by all who knew her and loved her.
She is survived by her children; Dale (Nadine) Warpinski, Doug Warpinski, Dan Warpinski, Dennis (Cindy) Warpinski and Trish (Mike) Wightman, grandchildren; Sara Warpinski, Chad (Heather) Warpinski, Ryan Gustofson, Kate (Alec) Getschow, Zackary (Bree) Warpinski, Alycen (Matt) Shanak, Tony (Samantha) Warpinski, Matt (Sally) Warpinski, Larry (Jesse) Warpinski, Rachel (Casey) Selner, Chris (Haley) Wightman and Jessi (Gerrit) Vander Waal.
