Ervin “Erv” Kerkhoff, age 83, Town of Glenmore, passed away on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, at St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay, due to an accident.
Erv was born on August 16, 1942, in Wrightstown, Wisconsin, the son of the late Adrian James and Margaret Ellen (Moran) Kerkhoff. On May 8, 1965, he married his sweetheart, Mary Jo Cappelle, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Glenmore.
Erv was a lifelong dairy farmer in De Pere, Wisconsin. He served on the board for Brown County Farm Bureau for many years and was a long-standing member of the Wayside-Morrison Lions Club for over 50 years. Erv was also deeply involved in the snowmobiling community, serving as president and vice president of the Ledgeview Snowmobile Club and as a charter member of the Greenleaf Riders Snowmobile Club — both for more than five decades.
Erv enjoyed baseball, bowling, playing cards, driving his John Deere tractors, and spending time with family and friends.
He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Mary Jo; their children Tammy (Ken) White, Robert Kerkhoff, Terrie (Randy) Krueger, Richard (Michelle) Kerkhoff; grandchildren, Chantel (Jake) Kasparian, Dakota (Cali) White, Collin (Tara) Kerkhoff, Rachel Kerkhoff, Megan (Bryan) Oleniczak, Cody Krueger, McKayla (Nick) Freeman, Jaden Kerkhoff, Joel (Grace, fiancée) Kerkhoff, and Clara Kerkhoff; great-grandchildren, Lettie Kasparian, Colton and Cora Oleniczak, Harper and Clayton Freeman, Romee White, and Cash Kerkhoff. Brother, sisters, in-laws, nieces, and nephews.
Erv was preceded in death by his parents; Adrian and Margaret Kerkhoff, brothers/in-laws Louie and Darlene Kerkhoff, Merlin and Ruthie Kerkhoff, Harold Ebben, and Sue La Luzerne, nephews, and nieces.
Family and friends may gather on Sunday, February 15, at Cotter Funeral Home, 536 County Road R, Denmark, WI from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., with a prayer vigil at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue Monday, February 16, from 9:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Glenmore, 5832 Big Apple Road, De Pere, WI. A mass of Christian burial will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Xavier Amirtham, O. Praem, officiating.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the entire ICU staff at St. Vincent Hospital, for the wonderful, compassionate care given to Erv during his stay there.
