Elizabeth (Betty) Anderle

March 22, 1931 — January 29, 2026

Elizabeth Mary Anderle (Brunette) 94, was born in Green Bay WI on March 22nd,1931 to James and Theresa Brunette. She was the youngest of 4 children born to two hearing impaired parents. Elizabeth (Betty) was strong willed as a child and always ready for an adventure. Her younger years were spent living on Adams Street in downtown Green Bay. and attending Catholic Central and East High School.

After graduating from High School she spent some time traveling with her sister Jean then returned to Green Bay and worked for a doctor. She met the love of her life Robert Anderle. They were married November 22,1958 at St. John the Evangelist Church. Together they built a home in Allouez. They had one daughter, Mary Anderle (Canadeo).

Elizabeth enjoyed people and was always the life of the party. She loved getting to know people and would effortlessly strike up a conversation with anyone in her vicinity. Her love of people led her to her life's work as an interpreter for the hearing impaired. She interpreted and taught sign language classes. She was well respected within the deaf community and cared deeply for the people for whom she interpreted. Betty loved her work and did it selflessly until the age of 80 when she was forced to retire.

Many years were devoted to sign language and the deaf community. Betty enjoyed sharing her sign language talents with anyone who wanted to learn from her. She spent time volunteering at her daughter's school, reading with students and teaching them a bit of sign language. She also volunteered at the prison and met a very dear friend who volunteered with her.

Betty was a faithful woman and a loyal member of Resurrection Parish. She loved attending mass and being a part of the social events that were held at church. She made many friends at Resurrection. She met Sarah Degroot who she adored and considered a second daughter. She will be remembered for her kisses with bright red lips.

Betty had one daughter and three grandchildren. She took care of her grandchildren part time while her daughter worked as a teacher. Spending time with them was pure joy for her. She was so proud of them and was always there for them if they ever needed her.

She was known for her sarcasm, quick wit and those bright red lips. She always made others laugh and was ready with a helping hand at a moment's notice. Betty had a kind smile and a warm heart. She had many friends of all ages. She had a strong faith in God and made time to pray every day, often signing her prayers while she said them.

Betty was known for her ability to write beautiful, funny and thought provoking poetry. She had a poem for every occasion and was often asked to write a poem by her friends and family.

Betty is survived and will be deeply missed by her daughter Mary (Joe) Canadeo, grandchildren Bennett, Isabel and Eli Canadeo along with numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband Robert, parents James and Theresa Brunette, sister and brother in law Jean and Eugene Landrum, brothers Hubert and Richard Brunette, sisters-in-law Arleen Brunette and Gaynell Brunette. Sister-in-law Uardey Motiff and brother-in-law Alfred Motiff.
