Elaine M. Neumeyer, 93, DePere, passed away on Wednesday, September 6, 2023 surrounded by her family. She was born in Manitowoc on October 22, 1929, to the late Irving and Laura (Gill) Maney. Elaine graduated from Valders High School in 1949. She married Norbert Neumeyer on June 10, 1950, at St. Mary Church, Clarks Mills. She worked at Mirro before marrying Norbert and raising 8 children. Later she worked at Montgomery Wards and Kiefer Uniforms.
Elaine enjoyed gardening, golfing, baking cookies, reading, and playing cards but mostly spending time with family. Elaine and Norb traveled extensively including to Ireland, Korea and Canada as well as 18 years cross-country to Arizona. One thing that you could guarantee was that Elaine never missed an opportunity to watch The Lawrence Welk Show, she wouldn’t miss it!
Elaine is survived by her children, Debra Prokop, her children, Joseph (Erin), Kayya (Russ); Barbara (Tom) Kiefer, their children, Andrew (Emily), Lisa, Mike (Lauren); Michael Neumeyer; Threse (Brent) Martin, their children, Spencer and Miranda; James Neumeyer, his children, Jason and Bailey; Susan (Matt) Vannieuwenhoven, their children, Michael and Emma and 7 great grandchildren, her sister’s; Marlene Oman and Nancy (Dennis) Bonk; brother, Tom (Eileen) Maney; sister-in-law, Marilyn Neumeyer; brother-in-law, Wayne Breckheimer as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Norbert; sons, Dennis, and David; son-in-law, Frank Prokop, brother, Jack (Alice); brother-in-law, Richard Oman; brother’s and sister’s-in-law, Delores (Richard), Jerry (Virginia), Clarence (Virginia), William (Ann), Edward (Agnes), Robert, Alphonse (Mary), Rose (Al), Bernadine
Family and friends may gather on Friday, September 15, 2023, at Resurrection Church, 333 Hilltop Dr. Green Bay, WI 54301, from 9:00 am until 10:45 am. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am with Rev. Tom Reynebeau officiating with entombment at Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum.
