Eileen J. (Verheyen) Sigl, 91, of Ledgeview, passed away peacefully Monday, August 22, 2022. She was born on March 8, 1931, in Green Bay to the late John and Caroline (Kerkhoff) Verheyen.
On May 3, 1956, Eileen was united in marriage to Lloyd Sigl. They began a family and created a lifetime of memories including trips out west, camping, fishing, and nights out on the dance floor. Eileen could often be found at the poker table with her siblings, holding a hand of queens in a sheepshead game with her husband and children, or pulling the lever of a slot machine. She found joy in canning and baking, especially chocolate chip cookies which could always be found in her freezer. She enjoyed any opportunity she had to be with her children, grands, great grands, especially at her favorite campground on Lake Metonga. Eileen lit up when children were around and was always happy to be snuggling the newest baby in the family.
Eileen was a proud, loving, and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who was always there to help out her family every opportunity she had. Her favorite past time was making a home-cooked meal for her family gathered around.
Eileen is survived by children Keith (Lorna)Sigl, Roxanne (Dan) Williams, grandchildren Cherry Sigl, Brian (Nikki) Sigl, Renee (Brady) Piontek, Melissa Krull, Tyler Williams (fiancé Lillian Sprenger), eight great grandchildren; her sister Mary Kunesh; brothers Bernard (Elaine) Verheyen and Darrell Verheyen (fiancé Margene), and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Lloyd; siblings Elmer, Alvin, John Jr., Clayton, Harold, Ray, Cliff, Cletus, Cyril, Evelyn Guerts, Delores, Judy Devroy, Juleen Scray, Nola Rentmeester, Florence Gardipee.
Eileens family would like to extend a special thank you to the Unity staff that provided such great care to our Gigi at home. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Eileen’s name.
