Edwin Daniel Schuh, age 88, of Rockland, passed into Eternal Life on June 21, 2022, at his home. He was born September 12, 1933, to Lauretta Manlick Schuh and George Schuh in the Town of Maple Grove, Manitowoc, Wisconsin.
He served in the US Army overseas in Korea. One year from the date of his return, he married Rose Marie Opsteen on August 5, 1959, in Kimberly, Wisconsin. Together they farmed in Maribel for 35 years prior to retiring to the De Pere area. She preceded him in death this past March.
Edwin was a farmer at heart but was also very active in his community. He was an usher and reader at St. James Church, Cooperstown, an active volunteer firefighter with the Maribel Fire Department, and was on the Cooperstown Town Board, serving as Town Chairman for several years.
He is survived by his children, Susan (Mark) Vandermeuse, Edwin (Heidi) Schuh Jr., Donald (Susan) Schuh, and Gary Schuh; grandchildren, Crystal (Dean) Vesperman, Carrie (Destiny) Resler, Makayla Suzumu, Edwin Schuh III, Rose Schuh, Donald Schuh, Kathryn Schuh, and Alexander Schuh; and great-grandchildren, Kasle, Ash, and Ember Resler, and Adalia Vesperman. He is further survived by his sisters, Regina Fischer, Monica Dresang, and Helen (Luke) Ratajczak; sisters-in-law, Carol Schuh, Patricia Schuh, Anna Schuh, Dori (Jim) Behnke, and Nancy (Bernard) Schuh; and brothers-in-law: Leonard (Ellen) Opsteen and Donald (Linda) Opsteen.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 62 years, Rose Marie; his parents, George and Lauretta Schuh; his in-laws, Leonard and Susan Opsteen; as well as numerous other family members and friends.
Family and friends may visit at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 220 S. Michigan St, De Pere, on Tuesday, June 28, from 9:00am until 10:45am. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am with Fr. Mike Ingold officiating. Entombment will be in Knollwood Mausoleum, Manitowoc. Cotter Funeral and Cremation Care is assisting the family.
