Edward F Seeman

September 10, 1928 — May 20, 2025

De Pere

Edward Seeman, age 96, died peacefully on Tuesday evening, May 20, 2025. Ed was born at home in Kewaunee, WI on September 10, 1928 to Edward and Emma Molle Seeman. He initially attended Kewanee High school and finished at Antigo High School. He served his country with unwavering dedication in the United States Navy during World War II. Enlisting in 1945 and honorably discharged in 1947, his service at key posts like San Diego earned him awards such as the World War II Victory Medal.

Ed and Betty Smith were married at St. John’s church in Antigo, WI on January 10, 1953. They spent most of their lives in De Pere and moved to Dousman, WI in 2019. In 1951, Ed joined Broadway auto dealership in De Pere where he worked and retired from after 42 years. During his career with Broadway he became a distinguished and highly respected manager and was one of the longest tenured employees.

Ed had a passion for bowling, golf, playing cards and fishing - activities that brought him joy and lifelong friendships and countless cherished memories. Ed and Betty participated in many bowling leagues, often bowling twice a week. He was able to continue bowling for over 50 years. Ed’s high single game score of 299 was one of the highlights of his time at the lanes but he also thoroughly enjoyed the time with their bowling partners and friends. Ed and Betty were also avid card players. They were part of many card clubs where they made terrific friendships. Ed continued to play cards up until the week before his death, playing Sheepshead on Tuesdays and Bridge on Thursdays. He was at peace spending time in Crivitz at Lake Noquebay and fishing. For many years, Ed also coached his sons' Little League and Babe Ruth baseball teams.

Ed is survived by his children: Douglas (Vickie) Seeman, Dennis (Tracy) Seeman and Judy (Dan) Berghoefer; grandchildren: Brianne (Phil) Kleman and Kendra (Kevin) Feller, Nick (Annie) Seeman and Emily (Blake) Johnson, Anna (Duffy) Eberhardt and Emma (Andrew) Shuler; 11 great-grandchildren: Kasen, Kenley and Kolton Kleman, Lilli Moline, Huntley and Jack Feller, Cole, Finley and Oliver Seeman, Mark and Jonah Johnson as well as nieces, nephews and other close family members.

In addition to his parents, Edward and Emma, his loving wife of almost 71 years, Betty Seeman, “little Eddie” was preceded in death by his 6 sisters: Adeline (Max) Parsons, Viola (Art) Blahnik, Margaret (Hank) Bero, Ruth (Sec) Schroeder, Lillian McInnis and Dorothy (Gerald) Volm. While many people touched Ed's life, he enjoyed regular conversations with 3 very special people in his life: nephew, Gene Schroeder; great-niece, Kris Stock (McKenzie); sister-in-law, Viola Hoppe.

Family and friends may visit at Cotter Funeral Home, 860 N. Webster Avenue, De Pere on Monday, June 2, 2025 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., followed by a service and dedication at 11:00a.m., officiated by Bill Volm, Ed’s nephew, to celebrate Ed’s remarkable life and the love he shared with those around him.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made in honor of Ed Seeman to Three Pillars Senior Living whose compassionate care supported both Ed and Betty over the past six years. Contributions will help continue the exceptional service and support they provide to others. Donations can be made to Three Pillars Senior Living (Click link to donate).
