Douglas E. Brown, age 88, of De Pere, WI, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 23, 2025 at Rennes Health & Rehab Center in De Pere, WI.
He was born on April 12, 1937 in Pontiac, MI, son of the late Leland and Anne (West) Brown. On February 6, 1960, he married Lillian Baker at Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Elsmere, Delaware.
Doug served his country starting in the US Navy and retiring from the US Air Force. For over 40 years, he worked at Hercules, Inc and later worked at JB Cycle in Howard. He was very active with the Boy Scouts of America for over 75 years. He also sang in various choirs and churches throughout his life. Doug and Lillian have been members of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in De Pere, WI.
Doug is survived by his wife Lillian; his children Kimberly (Robert Hergenrother) Brown, Susan Messerschmidt and Sandra (Gerry) Simpson; five grandchildren Anthony (Bailey) Messerschmidt, Sgt. Rachael (Sgt. Eddie Torres) Messerschmidt, Nick Messerschmidt, Tera Simpson and 2nd Lt. Mitchell Simpson; three great grandchildren Aria, Azrael and Gabriella and many other relatives and friends.
Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers Ira (Peggy) and Mac Brown and one sister Rosalee (Jack) Scannell.
Family and friends may gather on Monday, June 2, 2025 at Cotter Funeral Home at 860 N. Webster Ave, De Pere, WI 54115 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm and continuing on Tuesday, June 3, 2025 from 10:00 am to 10:45 am with the mass of Christian burial on Tuesday, June 3, 2025 at 11:00 am at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church 220 S. Michigan St., De Pere WI 543115 with Fr. Mike Ingold presiding. The burial will be private for family in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in De Pere, WI.
Memorial donations in Doug's name may be made to the Boy Scouts of America or the Parkinson's Foundation.
