It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dorothy “Dusty” Clark McMillan, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, friend, counselor, and sponsor. Dusty departed this world surrounded by the love of her family, leaving behind a legacy of devotion, strength, and compassion.
For over 31 years, Dusty shared a beautiful life with her husband, Quintin, whose love was the foundation of their family. Together, they built a home filled with laughter, kindness, and many loving memories.
Dusty was the proud and loving mother of Tracy (Michael) and Toni (Derek ). She guided her daughters with fierce devotion, inspiring them to live fully and love deeply. She joyfully celebrated the accomplishments and special moments of her 11 grandchildren: Aidan, Chloe, Nick (Rachael), Luke (Gaby), Reagan, Sam, Shelley, Shane, Laura, Quintin, and Spencer.
She is also lovingly remembered by her sister Sylvia; her nephew Wayne (Linda); her niece Arlene (John); and her sister-in-law Allie (Bob)—each of whom held a special place in Dusty’s heart. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clifford and Elizabeth, and her sisters Lynn, Shirley, and Wendy.
Dusty’s love extended to her loyal dog, Bella, and Fritz, the horse she rescued and treasured.
Her life was a testament to resilience and hope. She would have celebrated 50 years of sobriety in 2026, a milestone that speaks to her courage and determination. For over 40 years, Dusty dedicated herself to helping others as a drug and alcohol counselor and sponsor in AA. She guided countless individuals through recovery, leaving a profound impact on them and their families. She cherished her friends in Alcoholics Anonymous, many of whom became her dearest, lifelong companions. The fellowship and love she found in AA was a source of strength and joy.
Dusty lit up a room with her infectious smile and sense of humor, her ability to make everyone feel welcome, and her steadfast loyalty to those she loved. Though her physical presence will be deeply missed, her spirit will live on in the lives of her family, friends, and all who knew her—a testament to a life well lived and a heart well loved.
A private family service will be held to honor Dusty’s memory. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the GoFundMe account for her rescue horse Fritz at:https://gofund.me/9cf64d4d3
Rest in peace, Dusty. You will be forever missed and always remembered.
