Donald Witte

Donald J. Witte, age 94 of Green Bay, passed away at the home that he built on March 22, 2026. He was born on January 26, 1932, in Appleton to the late Carl and Salome Witte. After graduating from Green Bay East High School, he married Grace Blahnik on October 27, 1956, at St. Bonafice Catholic Church, in Manitowoc. Donald was a talented carpenter and home builder, creating many pieces of furniture and building beautiful homes. His creativity extended to his skill in photography, as well as being an accomplished piano player and member of the Green Bay Symphony Orchestra, playing bass.

He is survived by his children; Margaret (Bob) Ryerson, Jeffrey (Jill) Witte, Gregory (Bea) Witte and Karen (Sham) Papesh, grandchildren; Logan Papesh, Philip Witte, Jonathan Witte, Patrick Witte, Nathan Witte, Briana Papesh Van Wangeningen (Jeff) and eight great grandchildren. He is further survived by his sister Ann (Charles) Heidemann and brother Peter (Mary) Witte, as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Preceding him in death are his wife Grace, parents, Grace’s parents: John and Tille Blahnik; siblings: Robert (Chris) Witte and Paul Witte); Grace’s siblings: John (Elsie) Blahnik, Rainey (Ed) Cotter, Ellie (Marvin) Obry, Bernice (Robert) Anhalt, and Arlene (Robert) Mauer.

Family and friends may gather on Monday, March 30, at Cotter Funeral Home-Denmark Chapel (536 County Rd R, Denmark) beginning at 10:00am until the funeral service to be held at 12:00 noon. Entombment will take place at Calvary Mausoleum in Manitowoc.
