Donald John “Don” Massart, age 83, passed away on August 1, 2026 . Don was born on October 24, 1942 in Forestville to the late Roy and Helen (Rankin) Massart. He graduated from Algoma High School and earned a degree in accounting from Badger Green Bay Business College. He spent his entire career working in the banking industry.
On December 29, 1968 Don married Susan Dandois in Algoma. Don was a life member of the Green Bay Preble Optimist Club. He served his country in the U.S. Army, spending one year in Vietnam. He was also a life member of the Green Bay – Ashwaubenon VFW Post 2037.
He grew orchids, tended to their yard and perennial gardens and koi pond. Don enjoyed taking walks with his friend, Jerry. He adored miniature schnauzers, especially his little girl, Dickens. Don and Sue enjoyed entertaining friends at their home and swimming pool.
For over 50 years, Don was a member of St. Matthew Catholic Community, where he was a member of the Men’s Club and church choir.
Don is survived by his wife, Sue; his sister Diane; nephew, Eric; sister-in-law, Beverly Boucher; the Gerondale Families; as well as numerous other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and in-laws; his first wife Bonnie Gerondale Massart and their infant son, Steven.
Family and friends may visit at St. Matthew Catholic Church, 130 St. Matthew St., Green Bay on Thursday August 6,2026 from 9am until 10:45am. Mass of Christan Burial to follow at 11am with Fr. Bob Kabat officiating. Full Military Honors and Interment at Allouez Catholic Cemetery will follow Mass.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Cotter Funeral Home and Cremation Care.
