Dillon Matthew Steinfeldt age 32 passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with brain cancer, surrounded by the love of his family. He was born in Green Bay, WI on August 21, 1993.
He faced his illness with remarkable strength, grace, and unwavering spirit that inspired all who knew him.
Dillon married Aubrey (Thun) October 11, 2023 and celebrated that love on May 4th 2024. They were blessed with their beloved daughter Piper Rose.
Dillon worked for the Wiese Brothers Farms. It was so much more than just a job. They truly were his family. Dillon was a jack of all trades and could attempt to fix anything. He took joy in being in the fields with the sprayer and chopper.
Dillon was an essential part of the Brown County fair where he met Aubrey. Together they made so many memories at the fair. Dillon not only chaired the sponsorship committee but also help organize the rodeo. He developed such a passion for rodeos and was honored to accept the PRCA Great Lakes Circuit small rodeo of the year in 2025 on behalf of the Brown County Fair. Dillon also had a love for the dairy project and was so proud to watch Madison, Alvia and Elsie Wiese grow into the beautiful showmen they have become.
Dillon kept himself very busy, but when he needed some time to relax, he enjoyed nothing more than an afternoon on his boat with friends. Even though his NASCAR career didn’t pan out, he enjoyed racing at 141 speedway in his teens and continued to follow racing. Dillon most enjoyed his time in the woods with his favorite coon hunting dog Annie and was looking forward to training and hunting with his new dog Dixie.
Dillon joined the Greenleaf Volunteer Fire department and served his community he loved for over 10 years. Dillon started on the Morrison Fire Department before moving to Greenleaf. Despite his diagnosis and recent decline, he continued to be an active fire fighter.
Dillon is survived by his wife Aubrey (Thun) Steinfeldt, beautiful daughter Piper Rose Steinfeldt. His parents Mark and Sheila Steinfeldt, one sister and brother-in-law Amanda and Harvey Wellnitz and their two sons John Joseph and Oliver Dillon Wellnitz. Aubrey’s parents Seth and Tracy Thun, a sister-in law and brother-in-law Megan and Joe Hall and their daughter Freya Hall, a brother-in-law and sister in-law Luke and Kristen Thun and their four children Leah, Brady, Paige and Emma Thun.
Proceeded in death by his grandparents Chester and Elizabeth (“Betty”) Corrigan and William and Rosalie Steinfeldt, and many extended family members.
Further Survived by his best friends Dan and Angie Wiese and his “adopted” girls Madison, Alivia and Elsie Wiese, many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
We can’t thank Mark, Kathy, Dave and Joyce Wiese enough for the compassion and patience they showed to Dillon, Aubrey and Piper during this very difficult time.
Dillon was blessed to have many different experiences in life, too many to list, but he loved his time up north with his dad. One experience held close to his heart was the hunting trip out west with his dad, uncles and cousins. Dillon enjoyed his evenings making popcorn with Piper and snuggling on the couch.
Dillon will be remembered for his warmth, quiet strength, and ability to find meaning and connection even in the most difficult times. Whether through a shared laugh, one of his famous one liners, a sarcastic remark, a heartfelt conversation, or simply his presence, he left a lasting imprint on those around him.
