Dean James Mraz, 64, of Casco, WI, died in his home on December 10, 2023.
He was born in Green Bay, WI on March 22, 1959, to James Mraz and Violet (Paul) Mraz. He was the oldest of six children and the only boy.He attended Preble High School, graduating with honors in 1977. He continued his education at UW-River Falls, making the Dean’s list and graduating with an Agricultural Studies Degree. He used his knowledge and passion for agriculture throughout his career - working in greenhouses, propagating, and partaking in cultivar development. His love of nature and plant life remained through the years.
Dean met the woman he would marry, Pamela, in May of 1993. They began their life together by moving to Apopka, Florida, in December of the same year. In April of 1995, they were married. Five short years later, they welcomed their little girl, Kendra, into this world.
Dean’s pride and joy in life was Kendra. He was extremely proud of her and all her accomplishments. He would always find a way to talk about his daughter with others. He adored Kendra with all his heart. Dean was the kind of father that loved wholeheartedly and gave everything he could, to provide for his daughter, even if that meant living below his means. All he wanted was love and happiness for Kendra.
Dean enjoyed cooking tasty meals for his daughter and her fiancé. He loved it when family came to visit and always made sure everyone saved room for dessert – homemade blueberry or cherry cheesecake. He enjoyed playing cards and learning new games his daughter would teach him. During their visits, he would share stories from his childhood growing up and memories from college. Dean could always find a way to make people laugh with him.
Dean will be remembered for his kindness and generosity. He was a simple man who lived a simple life. He was selfless, always thoughtful, and considerate of others. Dean was warmhearted, tender, and devoted to his loved ones. He was a wonderful father, sweet brother, and honest son. He enjoyed being surrounded by family and friends – reminiscing on the good
times and sharing in his wisdom. He found peace in knowing Lord Jesus.
