Dave Bristol, 78 passed away on November 17, 2023. Dave was born on Friday, November 13, 1945, in Polk County, WI. When he was just a year old, he was welcomed into the home of his adoptive parents, the late Harvey and Alice Bristol. He was the little brother his older sister Shirley had wished for. At a young age, Dave learned the essence of hard work and the joy of tractor driving. This led him to a lifelong love of John Deere Tractors. Dave attended school in Denmark and later went to join the Navy where he received an honorable discharge and returned home to take care of the family farm after his father’s passing. Dave also attended training in Moline, IL, and began to work at Wegnar Implement. There he met the love of his life and married Terry on November 9, 1973.
They welcomed their only child, a daughter Tonia, into their lives. In years to come they later welcomed their son-in-law Chad Rozmarynoski as a part of their family. Dave and Chad shared a love of John Deere tractors. Along with Tonia and Chad, Dave was blessed with 2 granddaughters and was known as “Papa.”
Just recently they were fortunate to celebrate the milestone of 50 golden years of marriage. A celebration was held and attended by many.
Dave is survived by his wife Terry of 50 years, daughter and son-in-law Tonia and Chad Rozmarynoski, and 2 granddaughters Alice and Amelia Rozmarynoski. A sister Ruby Westlund and her husband Nick. Along with many good friends and neighbors.
He was preceded in death by his parents Harvey and Alice Bristol and his biological mother Margaret Westlund. Dave was fortunate to have met her in 1993 and continued a relationship with her until her passing. His sister and brother-in-law Shirley and Ken Smith.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 22 at Cotter Funeral Home in Denmark from 10 am to noon, with a funeral service starting at noon. Interment will follow at the West Danish Cemetery in New Denmark.
