Daryl Brys, age 84, of De Pere passed away on Thursday, October 30, 2025 with family at his side.
Born to Gerard “Jerry” and Dolores (Reiland) Brys on September 17, 1941. He built his lifetime home on part of the Brys homestead across from the farm he was raised on, much of it with his own two hands. He was able to stay in his home almost until the end, as he wished.
He graduated from St. Norbert’s High School and attended Milwaukee Institute of Technology. Married Sue De Broux, June 17, 1966 and was proud to have celebrated fifty years of marriage. After his long career at NCR Corporation, he took early retirement and became a full-time landlord. It kept him busy, and he enjoyed the people.
Enjoying snowmobiling, golf and bowling during his younger years and long days of sheepshead with the family, there was nothing more precious to him than his grandchildren. He was a big kid at heart.
Helping out others with his talents was something he took great pride in. The family cottage, his son and daughter’s first home’s, and grandson’s first duplex all have a little of him that will remain forever.
He will be truly missed by his daughter and son-in-law: Polly (Matt) Roeser, De Pere; son and daughter-in-law: Scott (Nancy) Brys, Sussex, WI; four grandsons: Zakary (Emily) Roeser, De Pere, Ryley (fiancé Suzie Bexell), Minneapolis, MN, Roeser, Casey (Kalli) Roeser, San Diego, CA, Alec Brys, Sussex, WI; step grandson: Ken (Casey) Jaxom, Sussex, WI; great-grandsons: Elliot and Oliver Roeser; step great-grandson: Ender Jaxom.
He is also survived by sister: Junella; brother, Delford (Pai) and sisters-in-law Sue; Mary (John) Walker, Vicki (Dick) Radosevich, Annette Christensen, Sue Brys; brother-in-law: Bob (Rosie) De Broux and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Daryl was preceded in death by his parents, wife and parents-in-law; brothers, Lloyd, Lyle, Del; brothers-in-law, Merlin Smits, Thomas Christensen; sisters-in-law: Gloria "Peachy" Brys, Priscilla Brys; nephews: Tony and Marty Smits, Thomas Brys
