Daniel Patrick Fels
Dan “Danny” Fels, age 62, of Green Bay went to his eternal home on Thursday, August 31, 2023. The son of Leland and Adeline (Schultz) Fels was born March 26, 1961. He was confirmed November 20th, 1977. His verse is “Blessed are they that hear the Word of God and keep it” Luke 11:28.
Danny did not let the challenges given to him at birth stop him from enjoying his life. He possessed an amazing memory where he could recall dates and details of events big or small. He could tell you the date of a party he attended or when he bought a pair of shoes. He could also tell you the year and model of every car he ever rode in.
Danny cherished camping, bicycling, ATVing, snowmobiling, and his many years attending annually the Wisconsin Lions Camp for the visually impaired.
Danny lived independently for many years, working and socializing at Curative Rehabilitation Services. He also went on adventures to many places in Wisconsin and many other states with family and friends. Over the years that independence became more and more challenging so family stepped in to help as needed.
He was blessed into a family that loved and cared for him deeply. Survivors include his brothers and sisters: Ron Kiekhaefer, Green Bay; Lee and Neva (Schultz) Fels, West Valley City, UT; Karen and Dan Smet, De Pere; Lon and Lori (Kalies) Fels, Greenleaf; and nieces & nephews, Russ, Sue, Kay, Kate, Stephen, Kari, Keith, Lisa, Scott, Chad, Karl, Pam, Mike; great nieces & nephews and extended family and friends.
Danny was preceded in death by his parents, Leland and Adeline; siblings, Bruce Fels and Beverly Kiekhaefer; and niece, Nancy Kiekhaefer.
Family and friends may visit at Faith Lutheran Church, 2335 S Webster Ave, Green Bay, on Sunday, September 10, from 2:00-2:45pm. Funeral service will be held at 3:00pm with Pastor Joshua Errer officiating. Private entombment will be in the Shrine of the Good Shepherd.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in honor of Dan may be directed to either Faith Lutheran Church or the Wisconsin Lion's Foundation.
Our family would like to thank the caregivers from Unity Hospice and Crossroads of Green Bay for their tender loving care of Dan.
