It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dakota Steinhorst, who left us too soon following an accident on July 20, 2025, at the age of 21. Dakota was born on April 27, 2004, in Green Bay, and he grew up in Denmark, where he made countless memories and friendships that will last a lifetime.
A proud graduate of Denmark High School Class of 2022, Dakota was well-known for his skills on the football field and his dedication to his friends. He was the kind of guy everyone looked up to — always cheerful, helpful, and full of life. Dakota had a passion for trucks and the outdoors, enjoying hunting, farming, and snowmobiling in his free time. His love for hunting was only rivaled by his talent in trap shooting, where he showcased his skills on a national level.
Dakota was not only a great friend to many but was also celebrated for his quick, witty and smart comments that brought laughter to those around him. He touched the lives of everyone he met with his infectious energy and positive outlook.
Dakota is survived by his parents: Cindy Selner and David (Sara) Steinhorst; sister Abby; grandparents: Dennis and JoAnn Selner, William “Grandpa Bill” and Janice “Nana JJ” Steinhorst; as well as aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.
