Chester "Chet" Joseph Nuskiewicz

Chester “Chet” Nuskiewicz, age 83, Allouez resident, passed away Tuesday September 14,2021. The son of the late Joseph Anthony and Martha (Andrjezwske) Nuskiewicz was born on June 19,1938 in Laona. Chet graduated from Laona High School and Moeller Barber Institute, Chicago, IL. He served his country in the U.S. Army. Chet married the former Audrey Gilson July 13,1963 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Algoma. He owned Chester’s Barbershop in Ashwaubenon for many years.

Chet was proud of his Polish heritage and loved polka music. He was an avid hunter and fisherman also enjoying woodworking. Chet greatly enjoyed his granddaughters sporting events, cheering on the Reedsburg Beavers and Oshkosh Titans. He is a member of Resurrection Catholic Parish in Allouez.

Survivors include his loving wife, Audrey. Children: Michael (Diane) Nuskiewicz, Glendale, WI, and Lisa Douglas, Reedsburg, WI. Grandchildren: Brandon Engel, Milwaukee, Meghan Douglas (Durrell), Reedsburg, Olivia Douglas, Madison, Ava Douglas, Reedsburg. His brother: Frank Nuskiewicz, Laona; sisters-in-law: Theresa Nuskiewicz, Oak Forest, IL, Donna Rice, Salem, OR, Nephews: Joseph Nuskiewicz, Chicago, IL, Jeff (Genny) Nuskiewicz, Chicago, IL, Rodney (Kay)Rice, Salem, OR as well as other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Joseph and Martha Nuskiewicz; in-laws Elmer and Lorraine Gilson; son-in-law, Gary Douglas; brother, Eugene Nuskiewicz; brother-in-law, Jerry Rice; niece Sarah Jane Rice; nephew Jim Nuskiewicz.

Family and friends may visit at Resurrection Catholic Church, 333 Hilltop Dr., Allouez on Tuesday, September 28, 2021 from 9:30am until 10:45am.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am with Rev. Tom Reynebeau officiating.   Cotter Funeral and Cremation Care is assisting the family with arrangements.A special thank you to the staff of Unity Hospice for all of the kind care and consideration given during this difficult time.
